Bright and Sunny

6 March 2012

It's been a very nice sunny day here in Dorktown today and as I had to go in to town anyway, I took my Alpha 350 with me.  Just lately I seem to have been having a few problems with it and I was hoping that it wasn't on its last legs - it isn't, as today's efforts show.

I sent the camera to Aperture priority and the aperture at f8 and the white balance for full sun daylight.  I must have already set the ISO at 400 at some time because that is how I later found it set to.  Anyway, I'm happy with how the camera handled things although my efforts didn't really match up to what it can do.  So here they are then ...

They are all of around the park and the town centre.  Any comments gratefully received.

What a cock up

3 March 2012

I've just read the first blog and realized just how bad it is.  My apologies for the errors.  Let's try to put it right shall we ...

First off then is a candid shot.  I'm sure that most readers will be aware of what I mean by candids shots and perhaps we all have a different view on what they should look like.  Here's one of mine then ...

This was taken a year or two ago on market day in Dorktown.

Snapping snappers then - if I'm seen I always say they have been flickred ;-)))  No one has complained yet but there again, they are probably doing the same as me anyway ...

This lass was bending over backwards and I was ready in case she ended up on her bum ... ah well.

As for birds, here's an avocet I got on Thursday ...

and a pub sign and a real ale sign I got the same day ...

There are old buildings everywhere you look so its hard to decided which one to go for, but this one will suit I think ...
It fits in with old and inetresting buildings.  It's in Hereford if you to go ahve a look.

This one is fairly easy to guess at.  It makes me hungry every time I look at it.  It was snapped at Birmingham market.

That Konica Minolta I had was a great.  Here's one I got on a trip to Aygarth Falls in Yorkshire.

As for the Fujifilm 2800 how about this ...

another bird shot, a kestrel hovering taken at Bempton Cliffs.  Jan later got this one in Blackpool ...

We didn't see the gull until the images was on the computer.  That 2800 was a heck of a good camera; look at the list one that Jan got outside our bungalow at close to midnight one night ...

She used a torch for the lighting.

If you have read my other blogs you may remember that I have mentioned that I get a tad frustrated when I can't remember what I've read in various magazines.  We don't really have the space to keep every mag I buy but I do enjoy reading them.  The other issue that I have found annoying is when I set the camera up for one shot I forget to change it for the next one.  That was what was wrong with the images the other day I was speaking of.  They all had a blue tint to them.  PSE7 soon sorted it for me but I'd rather get it right in camera than spend hours messing about in Photoshop.

It's nice and bright in Dorktown right now and I was thinking about getting off out and having ride on me scooter to see what I can snap at.  Sadly I have too much to do right now and will have to wait.  Hopefully I won't leave writing another post here a tad quicker too.  So for the finally image for today, how about a shot of Kile, our grandson ...
